Scholarships
There are dozens of ways to reduce the cost of learning to fly and this page draws together many of the sponsorship and scholarship schemes that are available today. There is stiff competition for these, so you will need to be prepared to justify why you deserve one, but you've got to be in it to win it! The Air League - www.airleague.co.uk
The Air League was founded in 1909 and it aims to promote an interest in aviation among young people through the offer of Flying Scholarships and Bursaries. The Joe Wheater Scholarship is a full PPL(A) course and they offer about 15 bursaries a year for PPL holders to progress to professional licences.
The Diana Britten Aerobatic Scholarship - www.dianabritten.com
Diana Britten is the UKs only unlimited competition aerobatic pilot. She offers one scholarship a year to female pilots who hold a PPL. The scholarship will fund a 10 hour course of dual competition aerobatic instruction, along with a year's membership of the British Aerobatic Association.

GAPAN offers 5 full PPL courses, 3 Flight Instructors courses and the J N Somers Scholarship for the ATPL, as well an instrument rating sponsorship.
The Royal Aero Club - www.royalaeroclubtrust.org
The Royal Aero Club offers a number of bursaries of £500 for applicants aged 16-21.

One bursary to enable the winner to complete PPL training and one scholarship of £2000 towards ATPL training (the Amy Johnson Memorial Trust scholarship). Open to ladies only.
